Montezuma's Old Mal Rally

The inaugural 1998 Alex Mal Club Old Mal/Short Board Championships, plus the Fancy Dress Boardriding Contest was a great day of surfing.
The Old Mal was won by Grant Thomas, the Short Board was won by Ashley Caldow, and Annie and Damian Coulter dressed as Bananas in Pajamas won the Oscars for Fancy Dress.

Since then the contest has evolved into a pure old mal contest.

From 2000 Montezuma's Moolooaba have been the major sponsor, and the Alex Mal Club is very appreciative of the support from Bruce and Jan Russell.
