Jack Boast Memorial Junior Longboard Classic

In December 1994 the inaugural Junior Longboard Classic was run by the club.
The 1994 surfing contest was the first of the modern longboard events soley for juniors held anywhere in Australia.

In 1998 it was renamed the Jack Boast Memorial Junior Longboard Classic in memory of the passing of Jack Boast. Jack was the driving force behind getting the junior contest started, running it for many years, and totally involved up until his passing.

Beach Beat Surf Shops have been the major sponsor for the many years, and the Alex Mal Club is very appreciative of the support from Al and Jeni Hing, Noel Woods and the rest of the crew from Beach Beat.

2009 saw the Alex Surf Shop come on board as major sponsor.
